"I had to fit a little World War II in the middle."

George T. Henry, a Cedar Rapids local, came to Coe College in 1941. Like many students during his time at Coe, Henry joined the air force in 1943 putting his college career on hold for a couple of years. Before sent abroad, he lived and trained in various cities throughout California and one in New Mexico. George became a B-24 bomber pilot. He returned to Coe in 1947 and graduated in 1949.

George spent most of his time in what was Williston Hall, studying Commerce and Finance, but post graduation, he never put his major to use, as he became a full time professionalphotographer even before he graduated.

Take a walk through a building at Coe College and you're likely to see a George Henry print. George has been documenting college life, from dignitaries to dining halls from behind his lens for over sixty years.
