"He made a snide comment, and I told him where to go."

Sally Nordstrom and Kent Cooling, '78 were in a class together during Sally's sophomore year. There was no real connection, however, until some time later in the local Maid Rite.  “I was there with my friends and he was coming toward me, as he walked by he made some snide comment about my blouse being unbuttoned too low, and I told him where he could go," Nordstrom says. "With that, I guess it was love at first sight because we have been bantering back and forth for decades now.”

Where is she now? After graduating from Coe, Sally Nordstrom and Kent Cooling  got married. Nordstrom has spent her career in the local Cedar Rapids business community. The Crimson and Gold tradition continued with the next generation of Coolings; daughter Chelsea Cooling graduated from Coe in 2010 and son Chase Cooling graduated in 2014.
